Flying Helmets And Big Haymakers Lead To Multiple Ejections During Violent Missouri/Arkansas Brawl

Missouri Arkansas Football Brawl Fight

The Battle Line Rivalry college football game between Missouri and Arkansas got ugly on Friday afternoon as a fight broke out during the second quarter. Multiple players were ejected.

It started with a late hit on Tigers quarterback Brady Cook. The senior signal-caller rolled out to the sideline on 3rd-and-12. Nobody was open so he threw the ball away while falling out of bounds.

As he did, 6-foot-3, 303-pound defensive lineman Taurean Carter laid a big hit. Both teams started pushing and shoving on the Razorbacks sideline, but things deescalated pretty quickly.

Tension between the two rivals was clearly at a peak. And then it boiled over!

One play later, an even uglier fight broke out. Missouri offensive lineman Cam’Ron Johnson pushed and stepped over an Arkansas player while he was lying on the ground.

That did not go over well with the Hogs, who quickly converged on Johnson. The brawl began.

Offensive lineman Armand Membou threw multiple punches amidst all of the mayhem. His helmet was ripped off as an army of Arkansas players pushed and pulled him away from the scene.

Although Membou might have been the most aggresive, he was not the only player to throw a punch. He was not the only player to let his anger get the best of him. It was a pretty nasty fight.

Here is how it looked from the press box:

Membou and a pair of Razorback defensive linemen were thrown out of the contest. The referees definitely generous in their decision to keep ejections to minimum. They could have tossed as many as seven or eight other players who also played a role in the dust-up.

College football rivalries get chippy. And while what went down on Friday afternoon wasn’t uncommon, it was one of the more violent brawls we have seen in recent history!
