Memphis Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant is undoubtedly one of the NBA’s most must-watch players.

Morant burst onto the scene a year ago when he made his first NBA All-Star Game and led the upstart Grizz to the Western Conference semifinals.

While he’s continued his impressive play in the 2022-23 season, the former No. 2 overall pick in the NBA Draft has also made headlines for a number of off-court reasons.

Morant was allegedly involved in an altercation with a teenager that involved him punching the young boy and waving a gun at him.

But that was just the start of his problems.

Morant’s entourage is also banned from a number of NBA games after allegedly threatening members the Indiana Pacers’ security staff.

The Grizzlies star has quickly gained a reputation off the court that supersedes the one he’s built on it. And things haven’t gotten any better since that point.

Morant is in hot water yet again.

He landed there on Saturday morning after an Instagram video showed him waving a firearm while partying in a club. The Grizzlies quickly responded to the video.

NBA Fans React To News Of Ja Morant Suspension

Memphis put out a press release Saturday afternoon announcing that the star point guard will be away from the team for its next two games. In other words, he’s been suspended.

NBA fans weren’t surprised by the news. But they seemed to be surprised by the team’s unwillingness to use the term “suspension.”

Grizzlies haven’t used the word suspension but my sense is that that’s effectively if not technically accurate, and coming from the team this time. (The friends barred from games after the Pacers incident came from the league.).” Chris Herrington, a writer for The Daily Memphian said.

“His reputation is in the dirt man, never understand how you can have generational wealth and still be so stupid,” Twitter user @FanMahome said.
Morant also upset Twitter user @TRW199, who says she flew from New Zealand to Los Angeles to see Morant and the Grizzlies against the Lakers.
While Morant’s talent is undeniable, it’s apparent that his decision-making could use some work.
