On Thursday, the New York Mets held their “What’s New” event and unveiled several new ballpark food concoctions unique to Citi Field this summer.

“This year our offerings are immense,” Citi Field’s Senior Executive Chef Jason Eksterowicz told MLB.com. “I think the whole idea of variety is something we put at the forefront. Where literally anywhere you are in the ballpark, you can have a completely different experience — from sightlines to food offerings to everything. I think this will be one of our more impressive seasons here.”

He’s not kidding.

Fans might want to take in a Mets game this year just for the ballpark food.

“For the first time this year, the Mets are offering food tours before the game. Guided tour of stadium’s top vendors. $150 per person, includes a taste of everything,” tweeted Darren Rovell of the Action Network.

Two other new unique culinary options have also been going viral since they were unleashed on the internet.

They are the brainchilds of Jacob’s Pickles and Sundae Donuts

How does a fried chicken sandwich made up of two glazed donut buns smothered in honey barbecue sauce sound?

What about a milkshake, topped with a glazed donut, sprinkles and popcorn?

If the popcorn on top is just too much weirdness, you can also substitute Oreo crumbles.

“It is a beast,” said Citi Field’s Senior Executive Chef Jason Eksterowicz. “It’s a dessert and meal all in itself. I would approach it one bite at a time and take it slow. It’s definitely an awesome, awesome dessert.”

A spokesperson for Sundae Donuts added, “The whole concept of the donut on top of the milkshake, it really comes from our brand and how it fits in. We’re really Instagrammable, like a lifestyle brand, over-the-top everything. It really just makes a statement and kids go crazy over it.”

The Mets also installed a new video board – the biggest in all of baseball – that fans can watch as they are stuffing their faces with these new ballpark delicacies.

Washington Commanders fans are going to be so jealous.
