The New England Patriots are down bad as the offense looks abysmal. On top of that, all eyes are on Mac Jones right now as he’s building a reputation as a dirty player.
After throwing an interception, Jones was seen diving at Eli Apple’s knees. Since then, fans have been in an uproar over the Patriots’ quarterback.
With that in mind, it sounds like the league is stepping in. According to Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, “Mac Jones will be evaluated by the NFL for a possible fine for his low hit on [Cincinnati] Bengals Eli Apple.” Additionally, there will be no suspension involved.
#Patriots QB Mac Jones will be evaluated by the NFL for a possible fine for his low hit on #Bengals CB Eli Apple, but not a suspension, per me and @TomPelissero. This will be reviewed in the normal fine timetable.

The play in question can be seen in this compilation video Dov Kleiman shared on social media. There are now four separate incidences where it appears Mac Jones is making a dirty play. All four of them are in the clip, including Jones’ most recent incident against the Bengals.

The fact we have a full compilation video of Mac Jones making potential dirty plays is eye-opening. From twisting Brian Burns’ ankles, diving at Eli Apple’s knees, and kicking at Jaquaon Brisker twice in one game, it appears Jones very well could be a dirty player.
We’ll see what the NFL has to say about the recent incident on Sunday. Whether or not he’s fined, doesn’t matter though, as many around the league already believe Mac Jones is a dirty player.
All facts, and he should be looked at that way every single week. Now, the boys know how to approach him each week… AND OFFICIALS SHOULD TOO! https://t.co/SOFuPGomye

Maybe one day Mac Jones will clean up his play. Until then, his reputation will have opposing defenders watching him closely.
