Georgia Message Board Poster Correctly Stated Nick Saban’s Retirement Plans Back In December

Nick Saban finally did the thing. He stepped down from his post at Alabama, retired from coaching, and joined the College GameDay crew at ESPN.

There has been a lot of chatter surrounding the greatest head coach in college football history over the last few years. This move was expected to come at some point.

To try and claim that you “predicted” Saban’s retirement and subsequent deal with the Worldwide Leader would be a ludicrous, egotistical thing to say. Everybody saw it coming but nobody knew exactly when it would all go down…

Except for one man (or woman!) with roots in Athens, Georgia.

The Bulldogs fan had insider information that everybody chose to ignore because it came from a message board. It was entirely correct.

‘BustinSkyDawg’ posted to UGASports.com about Saban’s future on Dec. 12, 2023. He or she claimed to receive confirmation that the Crimson Tide’s head coach had already inked a deal with ESPN. Saban’s plan was to announce his retirement after the College Football Playoff.

Sure enough, the retirement was announced shortly after Alabama’s loss in the Rose Bowl. Now, almost two full months since the original post, Nick Saban is set to join ESPN as a broadcaster and/or analyst in 2024.

The only thing that we don’t have confirmed at this point is money. BustinSkyDawg stated that the on-air agreement totals $14 million. Should that number leak, and Saban really is going to make that amount of money with ESPN, it would go down as one of the greatest message board posts of all-time.

As of right now, BustinSkyDawg is 2-for-2. Honestly, is no reason not to believe BustinSkyDawg about the financial side of Saban’s deal.

What did this person know? Where did he or she get his or her information? It’s too good!
