Terry Saban, better known as Miss Terry, is Alabama football’s First Lady.  If the Crimson Tide program was a movie, Nick Saban would be the director and Terry would be the producer and screenwriter.

With out her, Saban would probably be lost.

She gets forwarded all of Saban’s emails and is copied on each one that he sends. She hosts top recruits and their families into their home on Lake Tuscaloosa after Alabama’s A-Day. And, perhaps most importantly, she keeps her husband in check.

When Saban snapped at ESPN’s Maria Taylor after a win in 2018, Miss Terry told him he was in the wrong and Saban apologized shortly after.

After Saban had hip replacement surgery and was forced to rest, Miss Terry came home to find him standing in the driveway. She told him to get back in his chair and didn’t let him get back up.

In addition to making sure that Saban is in line, Miss Terry often offers advice for Alabama’s on-field play. She wants to run the ball more often and makes that clear.

However, Saban spoke with the media on Thursday and shared the one thing that she says most frequently. Apparently, Miss Terry wakes up and chooses violence.

Alabama ranked 13th in total defense in 2020 and 2019, and currently rank 27th in 2021. It is hard to imagine that the Crimson Tide will overhaul their defensive game plan anytime soon, but Miss Terry is rarely wrong.

Her presence is invaluable.

Saban gears up to face Lane Kiffin, Heisman Trophy contender Matt Corral and Ole Miss on Saturday. Perhaps he will consider Miss Terry’s advice and send the house more often.
