One sports bettor might’ve experienced some regret upon seeing Ohio State secure a national title win over Notre Dame. That gambler sold a 14-leg parlay ticket that cashed on Monday night.

The futures slip went 13-for-13 leading into the college football postseason. After the Buckeyes lost to Michigan in the regular season finale, however, this bettor cut their losses.

The ticket included a number of NBA divisional winner predictions, an NBA All-Star Game over/under wager, a few NHL guesses, and a UConn national championship pick among other things.

In total, the bet boasted incredible +17353716 odds, meaning every dollar risked would pay out about $173,500. The bettor only wagered 85 cents on the parlay, producing potential winnings of $147,507.44.

The final leg hit when Ohio State bested Notre Dame. Unfortunately, the bettor’s payout fell well short of that six-figure total.

After seeing the first 13 bets cash, things got dicey when the Buckeyes fell to Michigan in the season finale. That loss prevented Ohio State from securing a first-round bye in the College Football Playoff, adding one more postseason contest to the schedule.

Unwilling to take the risk, the bettor began shopping the ticket to around to potential buyers. It was posted to a social media account called Wager Wire on December 4th. They settled on a $16,750 sale.

Given the initial 85-cent investment, the bettor was happy to take the profit. “No regrets at all,” the gambler said in a story posted to Fox Sports. “If I had the bankroll to hedge and secure a higher payday, I would’ve done it, or I could’ve let it ride. In my situation, that didn’t seem smart to do – to risk walking away with zero dollars after so many months of sweating.”

With that being said, seeing the $150k bet cash had to sting just a little.

For the bettor that bought the ticket, it resulted in a win of more than $130k. Both parties made money on the slip. The original gambler, however, missed out on a boatload of cash – and they may have the Wolverines to blame!
