The Oregon State baseball team is hosting Florida State in the Super Regionals this weekend with a trip to the College World Series on the line. A group of fans’ midgame antics are now going viral.

They were seen building a wall of beer cans in front of their seats behind home plate. They then had to get creative after being told to take it down.

The first game of the series was played on Friday. The Beavers won that game in walk-off fashion. Trailing 4-1 in the bottom of the ninth inning, Oregon State plated three runs to tie the contest. AJ Singer sent fans home happy with an RBI single in the 10th frame. There was much to celebrate!

The party continued on Saturday with the team one win away from booking a trip to Omaha. Unfortunately, they’d be unable to get the victory.

The Beavers jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning but would be held scoreless over the last eight frames. The Seminoles eventually won, 3-1. The loss wasn’t what folks were talking about after the fact, though.

During the contest, cameras captured a wall made of beer cans being made by a group of fans sitting behind the dish. They were making some solid progress!

Later in the action, that beer can wall was gone. The empties had been replaced. Sources on social media say the NCAA forced the fans to take their masterpiece down.

The Oregon State baseball fans got creative with their beer wall.

After being told to take the wall of beer cans down, the fans started a new wall of water bottles. Viewers watching along at home took note.

“Just what we need the NCAA doing,” wrote one social media user on X. “OSU allows beer sales? If so, it’s none of the NCAA’s business. Your stadium, your beer and your ticket,” said another.

A number of Oregon State supporters suggested the removal of the wall impacted the game. “We started losing right after they took it down,” commented this fan.

With the series now tied, the Beavers will host the Seminoles in a winner-take-all Game 3 Sunday night. We’ll see if the water bottle wall makes another appearance.
