The Carolina Panthers hope for better things after switching up the roster a bit this offseason.

One thing that’s remained roughly the same is the defense. Carolina had one of the more underrated units last year.

The hope is that the defense can remain consistent while Bryce Young brings new life to the offense.

However, the Panthers received some bad news on Thursday, as it sounds like Jaycee Horn is struggling with yet another injury.

According to Pro Football Talk, Horn “will not practice again this offseason due to an injury to his left ankle and foot.” The young cornerback is reportedly in a walking boot “for the next few weeks.”

This is not an ideal situation for Carolina. The team was hoping to finally have Horn available to help him develop his game. Instead, he’ll be sidelined for the remainder of the offseason.

The silver lining though is that he is due to return to the Panthers’ roster by the start of the 2023 season.

Additionally, the timing of this injury isn’t great, as Horn “pushed back at suggestions that he’s injury prone recently by saying that he had ‘bad luck’ to miss time with a broken foot and broken wrist in his first two seasons,” per Pro Football Talk.

He also, “admitted he has to ‘be available’ to the team more often in 2023.” So far, things aren’t panning out the way he had hoped.

Luckily for him, it’s the offseason and he’s not slated to miss any games right now. So, there’s a chance Jaycee Horn bounces back and finally has a healthy season with the Panthers.

With that said, there probably won’t be much news on Horn for the rest of the summer. Carolina is likely to closely monitor their star cornerback.
