In case you weren’t already convinced, Patrick Mahomes may genuinely be the greatest quarterback in the history of the National Football League.

Despite being just 28 years old, Mahomes already has two Super Bowl titles (and three total appearances) under his belt. The underlying statistics behind Mahomes’ playoff career are equally impressive, as he ranks first in postseason winning percentage, total yards-per-game, touchdown-to-interception ratio, passer rating, and completion percentage.

The Chiefs’ win over Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Divisional round on Sunday was the first true road win in the playoffs of Mahomes’ career. Thanks to their 27-24 win over the Bills, the Chiefs will be taking on the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship game, marking their sixth straight season in the AFC title game.

If the Chiefs do beat Lamar Jackson and the Ravens on Sunday, they’ll advance to the fourth Super Bowl of Mahomes’ career, having previously beaten the San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL’s championship game, while losing to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Bucs in 2020.

Mahomes has also been named the NFL’s Most Valuable Player twice, Offensive Player of the Year once, and the Pro Bowl six times. During his seven years in the NFL — six as Chiefs’ starting signal-caller — he’s completed 66% of his passes for 28,424 yards, 219 touchdowns, and 63 interceptions. He’s also carried the ball 374 times for 1,936 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Drafted by Andy Reid and the Chiefs out of Texas Tech University as the 10th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, Mahomes spent his first year in the league backing up Alex Smith.
