So, did you watch DAHMER – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story starring Evan Peters? A whole lot of people did. As of October 4th it was the ninth most-watched english-language series of all time on Netflix.

According to Variety, people had watched DAHMER for 496.1 million hours with at least 56 million households hanging around for all 10 episodes of the series. That was in just 12 days too!

Because of that success, one might think that Netflix would be looking to do something similar, right? People do really love them some true crime.

Who would Netflix focus on though? Ted Bundy stories have reached their saturation point. The Unabomber? That’s been done to death (sorry) too.

How about former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez? His story certainly might be compelling for viewers. It’s not often, or, well, ever, that a active NFL tight end get arrested and convicted for murder and indicted for two others?

Heck, since he already has a relationship with Netflix, how about getting Jon Bernthal to play the late football star turned convicted murderer.

Shockingly (not), thousands of people on the internet didn’t bother to notice that the source of the tweet about Aaron Hernandez was DisbussingFilm, not the popular movie site DiscussingFilm. Of course the fact that DisbussingFilm has the exact same avatar as the real site didn’t help matters.

It’s tagline is also almost identical.

“Your leading source for quick reliable news and one of a kind content. Home for healthy and liberating discussion on all things pop culture,” reads the real site’s description.

“Your leading source for quick unreliable news about movies and unrealistic content,” reads the fake, along with the disclaimer, “(Parody).”

The fake Aaron Hernandez Netflix series tweet has so far gotten almost 70,000 like, over 5,100 retweets and over 5,100 comments.

Here’s an example of some of the thousands of reactions to the fake Aaron Hernandez tweet

“Murderer Cinematic Universe,” another person tweeted in response.

“Now that’s something I wanna watch,” another person tweeted.

“I love him as a actor but we really don’t need this,” someone else commented.
