Talk about the proposed breakaway golf circuit backed by Saudi money simply will not quiet down, and Kramer Hickok’s latest claim will only add more fuel to the already somewhat sizable fire.

Hickok, currently the No. 126th ranked player in the world, joined ‘The Stripe Show Podcast‘ and explained that 17 PGA Tour players have already “jumped over” to the Saudi league. On top of that, he claimed “big names” will likely follow and make the move as well.

“You’re going to see a lot of big names jump over there, I think there has already been 17 guys jump over. I can’t say who they are, but there are going to be some big names go over there,” Hickok explained.

“From what I’ve heard, the money is very, very appealing. You’re only going to have 12 to 14 events and those events are going to have huge purses. You’re not going to have to deal with missing a cut anymore because there is only going to be 40 players. Ten of those 14 events will be in the States.”

“Signing bonuses, huge purses, it’s going to be very appealing to some of these guys.”

Hickok Thinks Some Players Are Being Greedy

Hickok went on to say that he’s “extremely happy” on the PGA Tour.

“I’m extremely blessed [to be on the PGA Tour] and I think some of these guys are getting a little bit greedy,” Hickok said. “I think you have to be thankful and appreciate for the Tour to give us this platform, chase our dreams, and make a great living doing it.”

Hickok’s claims come at a very interesting point on this ongoing timeline involving the Saudi Golf League.

Over the last couple of weeks, it’s been reported that certain players have been offered incredible amounts of money to make the move.

Dustin Johnson hinted at the fact that he was offered a sizable amount of money while Bryson DeChambeau was reportedly offered $135 million to be the face of the new tour. Phil Mickelson has also made his intentions clear after calling the PGA Tour ‘obnoxious’ and ‘greedy.’

Hickok explained that certain players are signing NDA’s and contracts at PGA Tour or DP World Tour events to join the Saudi league and being wire “huge amounts of money to their bank accounts the very next day.”
