A high school QB made an incredible play on a self-pass to win a recent football matchup in the most bizarre of ways. The passer turned a broken play into a game-winning score on his team’s final possession.

The crazy play was made by an Arizona signal caller, and it’s quickly gone viral on social media.

BYU commit Enoch Watson was the hero, showing off his ability to make something out of nothing in a crucial moment. While facing a third-and-long in the redzone, he was able to nab a batted ball and scamper 19 yards to the endzone.

The pass/catch combo came with just 15 seconds left on the clock.

After having his attempt swatted by a defensive lineman, the quarterback was able to both snag the batted ball out of the air and navigate his way through a wall of would-be tacklers to cross the goal line.

After tacking on the extra point, the American Leadership Academy football team escaped with a 29-28 win over Pinnacle.

The QB’s self-pass sparked a massive reaction from viewers in the comments section.

“I like how the crowd got louder after every broken tackle,” one follower wrote.

“This is so awesome,” said someone else.

The win pushed ALA to 4-1 on the year while providing Watson with the highlight of his senior season. But as he wraps up his high school career, he’ll also have an eye on the future.

Enoch Watson committed to BYU in June as he plans to follow in the footsteps of Zach Wilson, Steve Young, Ty Detmer, and Jim McMahon. He’ll hope to continue the Cougars’ legacy of quarterback production while providing the now-Big 12 members with some excitement on the field.

Rated as a three-star prospect by 24/7 Sports, he’s considered the 24th-best passer in the state of Arizona. He’s listed as the sixth-best player in the Cougars’ 2024 recruiting class that currently consists of 12 commitments.

Not lacking flash either on or off the field, he’ll hope to make an instant impact in a quarterback room that will see starter Kedon Slovis graduate at the end of the year.

At 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds, he’s already got the size to contend for early playing time. If he continues making plays like this, he could certainly get a look from the coaching staff.
