Radio Host Slams Scottie Scheffler For Having ‘No Rizz’ After Masters Victory

After winning his second Masters tournament in resounding fashion, Scottie Scheffler is undeniably the face of golf.

The 27-year-old is the No. 1-ranked golfer in the world, a now two-time major champion, and already a three-time winner this season at three marquee events.

But is Scheffler’s ascent to the top of the golfing world good for the game? New York City radio host Maggie Gray isn’t so sure.

“If he’s the face of golf, I don’t think this is all that awesome for golf ’cause he’s got no rizz, as the kids say,” Gray said. “He’s not a charisma guy. He’s not, you know, I’m not saying you have to be big on social media, but he doesn’t really seem to be connecting with the public.”

Gray’s co-host, Andrew Perloff, then noted that golf as a whole isn’t exactly the most social-media or youth-friendly game.

“I know, I get it,” Gray continued. “But there are other guys who have beenlike, Max Homa who is really kind of interesting and sort of out there with the public, sort of very comfortable in that you feel like you get to know him — what do you know about Scottie Scheffler? That he almost had a baby this week? Something that everyone in the world does.”

Gray’s critique of Scheffler comes across as harsh. But it’s not entirely untrue. Scheffler isn’t the world’s most charismatic guy, and he’d tell you as much.

But his play, particularly this season, has made him undeniable.

Scheffler is on a Tiger Woods-esque run according to data golf. He’s not just beating the best competition in the world, he’s absolutely destroying it to the point where his incredible play is the selling point.

Would the PGA Tour appreciate it if he were a little more flamboyant? Probably.

But it’ll be just as happy if he goes out and wins the grand slam and solidifies his spot as a superstar.
