Raja Jackson, the son of former UFC light heavyweight champion Quenton “Rampage” Jackson, has cut a plea deal over his vicious assault of independent pro wrestler, “Syko Stu.” He had pleaded not guilty in October to the charges brought against him by the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office.
Raja Jackson pleaded no-contest to a felony count of battery with serious bodily injury. A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office also stated that the 26-year-old “admitted to two special allegations, including personal infliction of great bodily injury and engaging in violent conduct.” He was facing up to seven years in prison if convicted on the charges that were levied against him for his attack on Stuart Smith, the real name of “Syko Stu.”
Raja Jackson’s beating left Smith in critical condition in the hospital after he attacked him in the ring with 22 punches to the head before other wrestlers, including Douglas Malo, pulled him off the unconscious wrestler.
What kind of jail sentence is Raja Jackson going to receive?
A judge is expected to give Raja Jackson a 90-day county jail sentence and two years of probation when he is sentenced in late June, according to the New York Post. Prior to sentencing, Jackson must also make restitution of $81,703.38.
Following the brutal attack during a Knokx Pro Wrestling event in Los Angeles in August, which was captured on Raja Jackson’s own Kick live-stream, his father Quenton “Rampage” Jackson said, “I think because he’s my son and his father, as a public figure, and they they want to come after me, like, people automatically assume that that I’m going to defend my son and I’m going to like try to pay people off and get him out of trouble. I’m just as mad at Raja as they are.”
According to a statement on his Instagram account following the attack, Stuart Smith had injuries including “trauma to both the upper and lower jaws, a laceration to his upper lip, and a fracture to the maxilla bone, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of several teeth.”
