Since the Red Sox won the World Series in 2018, it’s been all downhill for the franchise. They played a good few months of baseball in 2021, but were eliminated in the ALCS by Houston.

But, the team was terrible this year, finishing last in the AL East. The pitching was bad, the offense was just average despite having high expectations, and they look to have the worst roster in their division.

A lot of the blame is on team owner John Henry. Henry, the president of Fenway Sports Group, which also owns Liverpool, has been a cheapskate lately for both teams. Liverpool fans want him gone, as do Red Sox fans. It’s a weird situation, since both teams have actually seen a ton of recent success. But, both fan bases want an investment that matches up with the worth of the franchises.

And, ever since Henry hired general manager Chaim Bloom, the Sox have been pinching pennies. Stars like Mookie Betts and Xander Bogaerts have walked. That’s something that is unheard of for the Red Sox, one of the most glamorous teams in Major League Baseball.

Fans and the local media are fired up, and they’re turning on Bloom.

A local sports station showed a graphic that shows just how badly Chaim Bloom has destroyed the Red Sox.

After their World Series win four years ago, it looked like they could have a dynasty on their hands. They had a young offensive core of Bogaerts, Betts, Andrew Benintendi and Rafael Devers. But, three of those players are gone, and Devers is due to be a free agent. And, this graphic sums up the frustration.

There was insult added to injury this week when one of the main pieces in the Mookie Betts trade, Jeter Downs, was waived by the team. Things are not good in Red Sox Nation, and it will take a change of ownership and front office to correct it.
