Let me assure you that this is, in fact, a real interview and not some unaired Saturday Night Live bit. Jim Tomsula, the newly minted head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, sat down for a conversation with CSN Bay Area.
It did not go well.
I mean, raise your hand if you’ve ever seen a sports figure — outside of Marshawn Lynch — be this terrible at dealing with the media.
If you can get through 45 seconds of this festival of tension without wanting to crawl in a hole and die of awkwardness, you’re a better man than I.
It should be a great year for Bay Area media covering the team. I foresee a plethora of flowery quotes.
