The video taken by an NBA Finals attendee who rushed the court during Game 1 between the San Antonio Spurs and New York Knicks has made its way online. During the 4th quarter of Game 1, the fan ran onto the court and took a video with Victor Wembanyama.
The video taken by the fan, however, wasn’t even technically successful, as San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama is so tall (listed a 7’5″) that he didn’t even fit in the frame.

“I’ve never been in that situation. I didn’t know how to act. It really surprised me almost as much as that time a bat crashed the court,” Wemby said of the incident after the game.
Due to the NBA Fan Code of Conduct, that fan — who was immediately ejected from the game — also faces a lifetime ban from every NBA arena and potential criminal charges such as criminal trespassing or disorderly conduct.
The Knicks stole Game 1 of the 2026 NBA Finals on the road with a 105-95 victory, taking a 1-0 series lead over the favored Spurs. Jalen Brunson, despite suffering from a knee and an ankle injury, led all scorers with 30 points — going 12-31 from the field and a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line.
Center Karl-Anthony Towns added 18 points and 12 rebounds while also doing a tremendous job guarding Wembanyama on the defensive end of the court. Josh Hart also chipped in with a unique stat line of 15 rebounds, 6 assists, 4 steals, and just 3 points.
Wembanyama finished with 26 points and 12 rebounds but shot just 6-21 from the field and also turned the ball over six times. The Knicks outscored San Antonio 57-40 in the second half to pull away.
Game 2 of the 2026 NBA Finals tips off Friday night in San Antonio at 8:30 p.m. EST. The Spurs, after being 4.5-point favorites in Game 1, have been listed as 5.5-point favorites for Game 2.
