In a not-so-rosy update from the Steel City, the Pittsburgh Steelers find themselves in a bit of a pickle.

Their latest loss, a 30-6 shellacking by the Houston Texans, has left fans wondering about the future of this season and quarterback Kenny Pickett.

The focus of the blame game has largely centered on offensive coordinator Matt Canada, but running back Najee Harris isn’t buying into that narrative.

In Harris’ eyes, it’s not the coaches who should be shouldering the load, but the players themselves who need to step up.

Harris said: “The coaches only can coach, we’ve got to execute the plays. We’re not trying to point the finger at all. It keeps being a conversation that’s brought up or things that’s talked about so much. It’s crazy.”

Harris added: “We have to execute at the end of the day, no matter who’s back there calling the plays. I honestly say that we’re not doing it right now. It has nothing to do with coaches. It’s just players. We have to play better.”

Harris himself hasn’t been lighting up the scoreboard either, with 210 rushing yards and no touchdowns this season.

Right now we’re just playing soft,” Harris admitted, echoing his belief that the issue lies with the players not stepping up to the plate.

That make sense with the Steelers currently ranking 29th in offensive yards and 30th in yards allowed on defense.

It’s safe to say they’re not exactly playing with the kind of fire their fans are used to seeing.
