There’s no love lost between Texas and Baylor. That rivalry plays out in families and workplaces all over Texas. And, Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian threw some gasoline on the fire when he said that scoring on the Baylor defense was easier than scoring on the Longhorn scout team during the week of practice.

He has a point. Texas absolutely destroyed Baylor on Saturday, winning 38-6.

The Longhorns, led by quarterback Quinn Ewers, went up and down the field on Baylor on Saturday. They racked up 503 yards of offense en route to a blowout rivalry win. It was a balanced attack, too, as Texas had 175 yards on the ground and over 320 through the air.

And, Steve Sarkisian took a shot at the Baylor defense, while pumping up his reserve players, when he said that scoring at the goal line against the scout team was tough than scoring at the goal line was against Baylor.

I actually think he’s trying to make it about his scout team and not the Baylor defense. But, That’s not how it came off. It definitely came off like Steve Sarkisian was taking a shot at coach Dave Aranda and Baylor.

It’s been a disastrous start for Baylor, who are off to a 1-3 start. Their only win is against a bad FCS program in Long Island.

Meanwhile, the Longhorns are rolling at 4-0, with that week two demolition on the road against Alabama making them a bona-fide playoff contenders.

Texas plays 24th-ranked Kansas on Saturday, while Baylor plays UCF.
