TCU men’s basketball defeated Kansas State in Manhattan on Saturday. Jameer Nelson Jr. was the hero.

Yes, that Jameer Nelson. College basketball fans already know, but if this is your introduction, welcome!

Nelson Jr. transferred to play one final season of college basketball with the Horned Frogs after two years at Delaware and two years at George Washington. He is currently averaging 10.9 points, 2.9 assists and 2.7 rebounds in 24.2 minutes per game for TCU.

The 6-foot-2 fifth-year senior guard is the son of former NBA All-Star Jameer Nelson— who spent 10 years with the Orlando Magic in the early 2000s. Feel old yet?

Anyway, Nelson Jr. hit a wild circus shot to defeat the Wildcats on their home floor. It was sick.

TCU’s media department built a reputation for itself during the football program’s national championship run in 2022/23. They beat every opponent along the way and posted a ruthless video to troll the losers over the loss as soon as the clock hit zero. Every time without fail.

The Horned Frogs have kept that same energy across other sports over the last few years as well. However, their video on Saturday was among the all-time best.

Kansas State went viral last spring for its pregame routine during March Madness. Coach Jerome Tang got his team loose by clapping along to Lil Baby.

TCU flipped the pregame tradition on its head after the win.

Ice cold!

The Horned Frogs moved to 18-7 with the win. It will be a big boost to their resume come tournament time, as they are currently right on the bubble.

If Nelson Jr. continues to step up in clutch moments, TCU is going to have plenty of opportunities to troll their opponents into oblivion down the back stretch of the season. If not, they could be on the outside looking in.
