Terry McLaurin has finally found his quarterback. The 26-year-old wide receiver has played his first three seasons in the NFL with the Washington Football Team and has been on the receiving end of throws from Case Keenum, Colt McCoy, Dwayne Haskins, Alex Smith, Kyle Allen, Ryan Fitzpatrick and Taylor Heinicke.

Of the seven quarterbacks who have thrown him the ball, none of them would be labeled with a “cannon arm.” Some of them have power behind their throws, but none of them can really air it out in the same way as Patrick Mahomes, Matthew Stafford or Aaron Rodgers.

Fortunately, McLaurin found a solution. He is finally able to go deep and have his quarterback find him.

In fact, he ran a fly route that was greater than any single pass thrown on a football field. It just didn’t take place on the gridiron.

McLaurin posted a video on social media that showed him catching a cannonball. Literally, but also figuratively.

After lining up for the catch in a cleared-out parking lot, a literal cannon shot a football 133 yards and McLaurin hauled it in.

The catch is super cool, but it’s the drone/trail camera angle that really makes it. That, and McLaurin losing his mind when he makes the catch.

Obviously, we will never know, but I’d be curious to see how many takes it took for the catch to be completed successfully. What a rush!

Now all McLaurin needs is for the cannon to line up under center on Sundays.
