A Florida man has reportedly filed a lawsuit against Tiger Woods and his caddie Joe LaCava over an alleged shoving incident that occurred during the 2018 Valspar Championship.

According to The Tampa Bay Times, the suit was filed for Brian Borusso on April 7 in Pinellas County, FL.

Borusso alleges that LaCava actually shoved him on the 13th hole during Woods’ third round of the tournament after Woods missed the Par 3 green long and left. Borusso is claiming that after Woods arrived at his ball, he attempted to take a selfie with Woods in the background and it was then that the alleged shoving incident took place. According to the lawsuit, this caused Borusso to “stumble and fall into the crowd of spectators.”

Borruso claims to have been injured, but the injuries are not specified in the complaint. It alleges that he was hospitalized, lost the ability to earn income and aggravated an existing health condition. Woods is named in the suit because he is LaCava’s employer.

Here is a clip showing a part of the alleged incident:

Borusso is seeking $30,000 in damages and is being represented by attorney Josh Drechsel.

“Regardless of celebrity status, no one has the right to violate the well-known safety rule of keeping your hands to yourself,” Drechsel said in a statement via The Tampa Bay Times. “It’s not right for anyone to do that, and we believe there is evidence out there that will help prove our case.”

As Golf News Net points out, PGA Tour regulations state that fans are allowed to bring and use mobile phones during rounds, but they’re not allowed to not interfere with players, caddies and media.
