After totally disappearing for over a year and basically vanishing off the face of the Earth to the point where literally no one could find him, former San Francisco Giants ace Tim Lincecum has resurfaced on Rockies pitcher Adam Ottavino’s Instagram account. Not only that, bro is also now completely ripped.

Back in September of this year, the San Jose Mercury News even sent a writer Daniel Brown on a mission to find out just where the hell the two-time Cy Young Award winner had disappeared to, but after much searching and questioning Brown came up with nothing.

Tim Lincecum’s last known address is tucked behind a partial fence, just off a sloped dead-end street near the shores of Lake Washington.

Getting to the front door of the barn-red building requires crossing a short bridge. It feels like walking the plank.

This is where I rang the doorbell over the course of a few days last week. It’s been said that nearly a third of Bigfoot sightings come from the Pacific Northwest, so this was my best bet at finding the elusive, mythical, shaggy creature known as The Freak.

Lincecum’s last appearance came in a game on August 5, 2016, pitching for the Los Angeles Angels after nine seasons with the Giants. His agent, Rick Thurman, did not respond to voicemails, texts or e-mails for Brown’s story, only saying “Lincecum is keeping in shape and hopes to pitch again.”

Tim’s father, Chris, did not respond to texts. Lincecum’s last appearance on social media was on an unverified Twitter account in 2012, so it may not have even been him. Giants employees and a current Giants player say they never hear from him.

Yet on Monday night, the man no one could find for over a year suddenly appeared out of nowhere on Ottavino’s Instagram account wearing a baseball glove in a photo with the simple caption, “timmy.” Oh yeah, he also looked like he’s been beasting out a the gym.

From 2007 to 2011, Lincecum was one of the best pitchers in baseball. Then, very abruptly in 2012, he became one of the most mediocre. In 2015, The Freak suffered a labral tear and had hip surgery in September of that year. Many, including writer Tom Verducci, blamed his poor pitching mechanics.

So does this new photo mean that the 33-year-old Lincecum, who went 110-89 and threw two no-hitters over his 10-year-career and has never officially retired, is healthy again and gearing up for a comeback? Knowing him, either we won’t know until it officially happens or we’ll never know what the photo actually means.
