Todd McShay has been around the game of football for a long time, and as it turns out, he has a past with now viral sports agent Sean Stellato.

The NFL draft guru apparently played high school football against Stellato, experiencing one of his most excruciating losses at Swampscott High in Massachusetts.

Stellato went viral before the Giants’ most recent Monday Night Football appearance due to his fitting look on the sidelines. The agent of New York passer Tommy DeVito, he could’ve passed as a supporting cast member in The Sopranos.

After seeing photos of Stellato floating around social media, McShay shared an interesting story of their high school connection.

“The worst part is that our only loss as a senior at Swampscott High was against [Stellato],” McShay posted on his X feed. “And then he wrote a book about it! Can’t make this stuff up.”

The draft analyst then shared an excerpt from that book, No Backing Down: The Inspirational Story of the 1994 Salem High School Football Team.

Stellato was the starting signal caller for that squad, and the book explained some of the hardships the team went through throughout that campaign. A story more impactful than Rocky or Rudy, he claims.

The agent’s client wound up playing pretty well on the big stage in a Giants’ win over the Packers, leading to jubilation from Stellato and the entire DeVito family in the stands.

New York won the game on a walk-off field goal, 24-22. DeVito threw for 158 yards and a touchdown while completing 81 percent of his passes.
