For the life of me I can’t pin down whether or not I am a huge fan of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady or whether I truly dislike the man.

One minute he’s chugging beers, sharing a funny “suspect board” for who stole his Super Bowl jersey, or mocking his complete inability to make a tackle and I like the guy.

Then the next minute he’s giving out dangerous sunburn-prevention advice, shows just how sheltered he is from the real world and wearing big, dumb coats and I just think he’s an idiot.

Today I am back on the Tom Brady is a funny guy bandwagon as over the weekend he shared on Instagram a comical reason for why he says he will not be retiring this year. And it all has to do with his legendary speed.

“Ok so the main reason I’m still playing is I haven’t hit 1,000 career rushing yards yet… 32 to go! #TB1K #CatchMeIfYouCan #whereyouatAP #watchandlearnruss #cominforyouarodg #notsoeasyanymorevon #qbsneakon3rdand1 😂🤷🏼‍♂️💯,” wrote Brady along with a video shwoing him running on the beach.

Those are some A+ hashtags there.

For the record, Brady currently sits at 968 rushing yards on 557 attempts (2.2 YPC) with 17 touchdowns and a long of 22 yards (2006) — literally his only run out of 557 to go for more than 20 yards in his career.

Considering the fact that last season Brady ran for only 28 yards, New England Patriots fans should be very happy with this news. It means Brady will more than likely have to play at least two more seasons if he really wants to eclipse 1,000 yards rushing for his career.

No word yet on whether or not Brady will continue to play until he raises his career tackle total higher than the current 11 he’s made so far over his 18 seasons in the NFL.

Yeah… probably not. He’s still a hell of a lead blocker though.
