Toosii is no longer a member of the college football program at LSU. The viral TikTok rapper quit the team after less than three months.
His career is already over before it even began!
Coach Lane Kiffin had nothing but kind words for the 26-year-old. He claims the brief stint in college football was not a PR stunt.
Who is Nau’Jour Grainger?
Nau’Jour Lazier Grainger is better known by his stage name, Toosii. The New York-native began his music career in 2017. He rose to mainstream prominence with the release of his hit single ‘Favorite Song’ in 2020. It peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned double platinum certification after it first went viral on social media. It has been streamed more than 250 million times on Spotify with more than 350 million view on YouTube.
Toosii boasts more than four million followers on both Instagram and TikTok. He is extremely viral.
Although Granger was born and raised in Syracuse, his family later moved to Raleigh, North Carolina. He started recording music under the moniker Toosii at the age of 16 while playing high school football. He played slotback and wide receiver at Rolesville.
Granger was a lot of fun to watch on the gridiron and the Rams got him the ball as often as possible. However, his size did not project as a Division-I college football player. And he probably wasn’t good enough to go FBS anyway. It wasn’t going to happen.
Things obviously worked out. Toosii has an estimated net worth of $1.5-3 million. He’s doing just fine.
Toosii played college football at LSU.
Granger decided to pause his music career at the age of 25 to pursue college football. He took a number of high-profile recruiting visits to schools like USC, Maryland and Duke but Syracuse ultimately received his commitment on the first day of December.
Toosii was all set to enroll for the spring semester. He was going to join the Orange as a wide receiver and even got his own locker.
It all fell apart in late January. Syracuse head coach Fran Brown added a lot more players through the transfer portal than he had expected so Grainger was left without a scholarship. Toosii “decommitted” from the program. He wasn’t going to be a walk-on.
Not too long thereafter, Toosii referred to Brown as a “bozo” on TikTok. His account of what happened was different from what the head coach said happened. I’m sure the truth lies somewhere in the middle. It was the same result either way.
Grainger later appeared on the roster at Louisiana State University. Toosii practiced with the Tigers during the spring.

“I would start off by saying it’s a beautiful thing seeing people chase their dreams… but in that same breath, this may not be that. This is not Instagram, this is not YouTube… this to me seems not really real.” https://t.co/utuPT5Er0g pic.twitter.com/Rtz1dNv3B5
And now, less than three months later, Lane Kiffin revealed that Toosii is no longer a member of the team. He signed a contract with a gambling company and left LSU to return to music and entertainment.
That is the end of that! Toosii’s college football career lasted less than six months. He spent a few weeks at Syracuse and practiced at Louisiana State during the spring. Kiffin claims it was not a gimmick.
