Miami starting quarterback Tyler Van Dyke may or may not be dealing with a leg injury. Nobody knows.

Actually, that’s not true. The Hurricanes know. Van Dyke knows.

Nobody else knows. Except we do. Except we also don’t.

It’s all very confusing.

Van Dyke, who played his best game of the season against UNC on Saturday (outside of two ugly interceptions, which is admittedly contradictory), fell 10 points short of an upset road win over the No. 10-ranked team in the country. It was Miami’s second loss of the season.

The focus now shifts to a home game against Clemson on Saturday night.

Tyler Van Dyke’s health status is up in the air. Or is it?

According to a report from Susan Miller Degnan of the Miami Herald, the senior quarterback was spotted on Monday with his “right leg wrapped in an ace bandage all the way up to above his knee.” He was limping, while keeping the leg completely locked as he walked.

As a proper journalist should, Miller Degnan followed-up on what she saw later in the morning. To do so, she asked head coach Mario Cristobal whether there was any concern about Van Dyke’s injury.

Miller Degnan did not post the injury as a question. She saw what she saw and wanted to know the extent of the injury that required the leg wrap.

Cristobal brushed it off with some sass.

That was that, but Miller Degnan was not done and turned her focus to Shannon Dawson. The Hurricanes offensive coordinator was a bit more chatty.

Dawson said that Van Dyke “is fine.” He also added that “[Van Dyke] is ready to practice today, which I’m proud of.”

Hmmm……………………………………….

What does that mean? Nobody Only the team knows.

Cristobal and Dawson said that Van Dyke is ready to go. Van Dyke was seen with his leg wrapped.

Perhaps the wrap was standard maintenance. Perhaps it was something greater.

More details will come throughout the rest of the week. It’s only Monday. Stay tuned.
