Tyreek Hill Chimes In On Jaylen Waddle Trade Proposal Floated By Ex-Dolphins VP

The Dolphins have one of the best wide receiving corps (if not the best) in the NFL, and Tyreek Hill is obviously hoping to keep riding that wave based on his response to a trade proposal involving fellow WR Jaylen Waddle.

NFL teams who were tasked with shutting down the Miami Dolphins offense last season faced a fairly tall task, as Tua Tagovailoa had a couple of very speedy weapons in his arsenal courtesy of Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.

While Miami was able to punch its ticket to the postseason for the second straight year after going 11-6, the franchise also found itself needing to do a little bit of soul-searching after being eliminated in the wild card for the second season in a row.

It seems like a foregone conclusion the Dolphins will exercise Tagovailoa’s fifth-year option, and it’s safe to assume they’ll do the same with Waddle’s, which will set them back $15 million (a number much smaller than what he’ll likely demand when he enters free agency next year).

With that said, former Dolphins vice president Mike Tannenbaum floated an interesting proposal on Get Up earlier this week when he said Miami should use Waddle as leverage in a trade for Chiefs cornerback Trent McDuffie, who earned first-team All-Pro honors thanks to his performance in Kansas City last year.

That swap would theoretically allow the Dolphins to firm up their secondary while giving Patrick Mahomes a top option at wide receiver, which he’s been lacking since Hill took his talents to Miami (although that didn’t prevent the Chiefs from winning their second Super Bowl in a row).

However, there’s at least one person who isn’t a fan of that hypothetical transaction: Tyreek, who piled praise upon his teammate while saying it would be “ludicrous” to trade him.

It’s worth noting Tannenbaum is the same person who said the Jets should attempt to get Russell Wilson to serve as a backup to Aaron Rodgers, so it might be worth taking his advice with a grain of salt.
