The NFL offseason is in full swing, and by that I mean we’re in the middle of summer and there’s really not much going on unless you’re fascinated by low-profile free agent signings and OTAs. Thankfully, EA Sports has helped break up the monotony by using Madden to spark a bunch of drama to keep football fans entertained until training camp starts.

The company kicked things off by revealing the seven players with a perfect rating in the upcoming Madden 19 before releasing scores for the rest of the league that unsurprisingly resulted in some blowback from guys who probably up all their stats to 99 when they get their hands on the game. It reached a point where EA Sports was forced to respond and let players know they’re allowed to appeal their evaluation if they really care that much.

Dallas Cowboys defensive end Tyrone Crawford is the latest player to voice his displeasure with this year’s Madden but it doesn’t have anything to do with his virtual stats. On Sunday, he posted a picture of his player model rocking a sizeable gut, a feature he took particular exception to.

He followed up the tweet by posting a couple of more flattering pics of himself in uniform to make his case and it appears that the powers that be have taken his feedback to heart.

On Monday, EA Sports announced Crawford’s case was under review before posting an updated picture of a much slimmer version of the Cowboys’ avatar.

There’s nothing I love more than a happy ending.
