Unbelievably Cringeworthy Video Of Padres Fans Has Phillies Fans Feeling Extremely Confident About NLCS

Despite all the tears and full diapers coming from fans and sports writers in New York, Los Angeles and Atlanta, the Philadelphia Phillies and San Diego Padres will begin the National League Championship Series on Tuesday.

Philadelphia fans, as they’re wont to do, are already feeling irrationally confident about the series. After all, Philadelphia only has two speeds.

The vibes in Philly are immaculate after taking out the St. Louis Cardinals and then the Atlanta Braves. Couple that with an undefeated Eagles team, a Sixers team with high expectations and a shockingly 2-0 Flyers team and we’re reaching dangerous levels of Philadelphia fandom.

Padres Fans Embarrass The Entire City With Cringeworthy Song And Dance Video

San Diego Padres are doing nothing to slow down the Philly warpath, either. A painfully cringeworthy video surfaced on Twitter on Tuesday of Padres fans singing a song about how they’re going to beat the Phillies. You be the judge.

The song appears to go:

“Phillies goin’ down, to yellow and brown. That’s what’s innnnnn. Padres on the loose. Let’s go goose. That’s what’s innnn. Bryce gonna lose, and Manny’s gonna cruise. That’s what’s innnnn.’ Give Philly no slack, and send them back. That’s what’s innnnnnn.”

If I were a Padres player, I might consider retirement before ever representing that fan base again. It didn’t take long for Philadelphia fans to jump all over the video.

Philadelphia fans have done a lot of weird things to celebrate sports success. And I mean a lot of very weird things. But the secondhand embarrassment here is incalculable. That’s the type of video that drives fans to switch teams out of embarrassment. For the sake of the mental health of all Philadelphia fans, we should hope that they don’t lose to this team.

But hey, at least if they lose it will be some sort of dignity still in tact.
