Vikings Rookie Refuses To Buy A Car And Walks To Practice Because He’s Cheap AF

Taken with the 168th overall pick in this past April’s NFL Draft, one would think that Minnesota Vikings rookie wide receiver Moritz Boehringer would splurge a little bit and reward himself with something nice for making it to the league. You would be wrong, though.

Boehringer, who became the first player drafted who has never played a down of football in North America before, said that he walks to Vikings practice everyday because he’s trying to save some money, even refusing to buy a car, take an Uber or, you know, do things that we all do without even thinking.

Per FOX Sports:

“The main reason I walk everywhere is because I don’t have a car. I wanted to save money. Every morning I just walk to the facility, and in the afternoon I walk back. My girlfriend thinks that’s pretty crazy because like most Americans, she drives everywhere.”

The 6’4″ wideout also talked about the differences between his native Germany and the States, admitting he’s still getting acclimated to the changes.

It may sound crazy, but at least Moritz Boehringer is saving money for a good reason—which is more than other athletes can probably claim.
