The Vikings aren’t giving up on their 4-4 season despite losing their starting quarterback, Kirk Cousins, to a torn Achilles.

According to NFL Insiders Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport, the Cardinals have agreed to trade their starting quarterback, Josh Dobbs, to the Vikings.

Dobbs, who started the first eight games for Arizona, will now be joining the Vikings’ quarterback room alongside rookie Jaren Hall.

This marks the second time Dobbs has been traded in the past three months. He was initially traded from Cleveland to Arizona in August.

The trade details, as reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, have the Cardinals sending Dobbs and a 7th-round pick to the Vikings in exchange for a 6th-round pick. Additionally, there are conditions attached to the trade that could potentially upgrade the 7th-round pick to a sixth-round pick, making it a low-risk move for Minnesota to bolster their quarterback options.

Dobbs finds himself in a whirlwind of changes this season, transitioning from Cleveland to Arizona unexpectedly and adapting to the role of the Cardinals’ starting quarterback on short notice. Now, he faces yet another challenge as he potentially steps into the role of the Vikings’ starting quarterback, requiring him to quickly familiarize himself with Minnesota’s offensive system.

There is still a chance Hall will start but considering the trade, it seems Dobbs should get the nod first.
