Former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick was seen showcasing his skills in a workout video alongside several current NFL stars in a recent Nike promotional event.

The 35-year-old athlete, known for his protests against police brutality and racial injustice during the 2016 season, hasn’t played in the NFL since.

This latest workout video displayed Kaepernick’s arm strength and accuracy as he delivered passes to renowned players like Tennessee Titans’ star running back Derrick Henry, Dallas Cowboys’ wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, Miami Dolphins’ speedster Jaylen Waddle, New Orleans Saints Chris Olave, Pittsburgh Steelers Najee Harris and New England Patriots’ Kendrick Bourne.

Despite being over six years removed from his last NFL game, the players featured in the video were impressed by Kaepernick’s passing abilities, sparking hope for a potential return to the league:

“Man he looks great, he looks good, the arm looks strong. He’s got a rocket of an arm… He’s got another good six years left,” remarked Kendrick Bourne.

“The arm is still intact. Strong arm, deep ball is very nice, and he’s still Kap, he’s still got it to him,” praised CeeDee Lamb.

“Kap’s got a real rocket for an arm, man, so it’s different. Real good ball placement, it’s easy when you’ve got a quarterback that’s been through it, he makes it easy for us,” said Jaylen Waddle.

The workout video has sparked conversations among fans and analysts alike, with many wondering if Kaepernick’s display will garner interest from NFL teams.

Kaepernick recently told SI that he’s still waiting for NFL team to call him so he could resume his career. He added that he trains 5-6 days a week and can easily throw it over 60+ yards.

Despite his time away from the field, Kaepernick’s dedication to staying in football shape is evident, and it remains to be seen if he’ll receive an opportunity to make his highly anticipated comeback to the league.
