Legendary Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban shocked the college football world on Wednesday when he announced his retirement at the age of 72.

Tide fans quickly rushed to the site of Saban’s statue outside of Bryant-Denny Stadium, acting as if the longtime coach had died.

They proceeded to leave several items as the foot of the statue in tribute. Some items made sense. Such as oatmeal cream pies and bottles of Coke, both of which Saban was known to indulge in.

But others were a bit more…erm…peculiar.

Let’s take a quick look at some of the weirdest things Alabama fans left at the foot of Nick Saban’s statue.

We’ll start with the obvious.

The “get well soon” balloon near Saban’s right hand. They kn0w he’s not sick, right? At least, not that we know of. I don’t think gonna recover from retirement anytime soon.

Then you can take a look at the bottom right portion of the picture where you’ll see a shiny gold can of Four Loko. As far as we know, Saban is much of a Four Loko drinker. But hey, he’s retired now, so maybe that’ll be a new interest?

There’s a slice of pizza, a figurine of a duck, a Trojan condom, a pillow shaped like red lips, a Target gift card (functional!),  some cash, a bucket of pickles, a bottle of Smirnoff Ice and some empty bottles of wine.

Honestly, anything students could find to leave at the Saban statue, they seem to have found.

Does any of it makes sense? No, not at all.

Is it still all rather hilarious? Absolutely.

Hopefully Nick sends an assistant down to pick it all up. There’s some real value there.
