Lisa Wilson, the often controversial mother of beleaguered New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson, joked on social media about having an affair on her Instagram story and people didn’t like it. So she clapped back.
The trouble began (this time) when Lisa Wilson shared a video of herself at the gym working out with the caption, “I’m having an affair with the hot guy from the gym, who also happens to be my husband.”
Naturally, because internet, several folks on social media took offense to Lisa Wilson joking about having an affair.
One person whose direct message Lisa would later share read, “Affairs are nothing to make light of. For real. They’re not funny. They destroy families and children’s lives.”
Lisa Wilson, of course, chose to respond to the DM publicly.
“Um… I don’t think i made fun of it,” she wrote on her Instagram story in response to the private message. “We weren’t good. We were tired and disconnected. So I thought why do people have affairs. So I did all the same things to try to bring a spark back. Flirting, sexy texts. And it worked. I’m trying to promote finding that fire with your person.”
Lisa added, “I’m not for everyone and that’s ok. I’m just a mom and wife trying to help women live their best life. Sharing things that work for me.”
She then posted a photo from her and her husband Mike’s wedding, writing alongside it, “If you’re new here… THIS is the hot guy at the gym… he’s ALSO the father of my 6 children, who I’ve been married to for 27 years next Friday.”

Coincidentally, Lisa Wilson’s little dustup on social media occurred on the same day that her son Zach was given his walking papers, per se, by Jets general manager Joe Douglas, who announced that he had granted the 24-year-old former first round pick permission to seek a trade.
In 34 games since being selected second overall by the Jets in 2021, Zach Wilson has thrown for 6,293 yards with 23 touchdowns and 25 interceptions.
