Amazon’s founder and CEO Jeff Bezos recently padded his ‘richest person in the world’ stats by making $12 BILLION overnight, thanks to Amazon’s net income for the first quarter of 2018 reaching $1.63 billion or $3.27 per share, nearly triple what analysts expected ($1.24). The 54-year-old, who made an average of $107 million per day in 2017, is so obscenely wealthy that the value of $1 to the average person equals about $88,000 to Bezos.

At the moment, Forbes’ Most Powerful CEO in the World is worth nearly $133 billion, nearly $40 billion more than Bill Gates, the world’s second richest man. Bezos is the only person in the world with 12 digits next to his name.

Feel shitty about your current financial situation yet? No? Well let astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson throw the knockout punch.

A few stats here: A dollar bill is 6.14 inches long, the moon’s average distance from Earth is about 238,000 miles, and the Earth’s circumference is about 24,900 miles.

Now you’re sad. Here are a few poignant responses to Tyson’s tweet that could turn that frown upside down.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to crack open my piggy bank for lunch money. Yes, I have a piggy bank. Dont @ me.

Matt’s love of writing was born during a sixth grade assembly when it was announced that his essay titled “Why Drugs Are Bad” had taken first prize in D.A.R.E.’s grade-wide contest. The anti-drug people gave him a $50 savings bond for his brave contribution to crime-fighting, and upon the bond’s maturity 10 years later, he used it to buy his very first bag of marijuana.
