Rescue Pup Who Was Passed Up On By 18,000 Potential Owners Gets Role In Upcoming ‘Transformers 5’ Film, Credit: Michael Bay

Imagine being a pup, who, by no reason other than getting the shit end of the stick, was housed in an animal shelter since you were 6 weeks old. Fast forward six years, 18,000 potential pet owners later, and seeing 50 of your kennel buddies find a home with a loving family, the dream of obtaining a fulfilling life must seem like a fruitless endeavor.

That has been the life trajectory of Freya, a Staffordshire bull terrier dubbed “Britain’s loneliest dog,” who has spent her entire life at the Freshfields Animal Rescue Centre, a pet shelter in Liverpool, England.

But, after esteemed film director and animal rescue activist Michael Bay caught wind of a video Mirror UK made about the trials and tribulations of Freya, he decided to Bro Up and give her a role in his upcoming Transformers film, which is shooting in the UK this summer.

Since the news broke, there have been droves of people interested in adopting pup–which I suspect was Bay’s intent (as well as good publicity, of course)–but if no one adopts the terrier, Bay swore to make the pooch part of his family.

Good on you sir. Now all you need to do is not to make this Transformers suck like the last few. No pressure!

No offense.

Freya’s probably a chill dog, but no dog is better than beer protecting dog.
