Guy Covers Up Tattoos First Time

People get tattoos for thousands of different reasons. To celebrate their team winning a championship, for a movie role, or just because they love “The Simpsons” so damn much.

Ethan is a 24-year-old guy from Australia with a passion for tattooing his body. He started modifying his body with expanders at the age of 11 and eventually progressed into tattooing his entire body.

“I just thought it was cool,” Ethan told Truly for their web series, Transformed. “I just didn’t want to look like everyone else.”

Ethan has had so much tattoo work done across his body and face that he can’t really pinpoint an exact number of tats on his body.

In addition to all the tattoos, Ethan has body modifications that include tattooing the whites of his eyes (WHAT?!?!) and bifurcating his tongue.

Ethan’s girlfriend, Meg, has only ever seen Ethan with tattoos.

Ethan’s tattoos were completely covered up with the help of a makeup artist and over two hours in a makeup chair. Ethan got to see his face without tattoos for the first time in years, and Meg saw Ethan’s face without ink for the first time ever.

When Ethan first sees himself in the mirror without his distinctive body art, he’s pretty floored but realizes almost immediately that he likes his tattooed face much better.

But how will Meg react?

Fortunately, Meg likes her tattoo-faced boyfriend much better, though even if she did like cleaned-faced Ethan, there’s really little he could do about it now.

“People look at it like me getting tattooed and modified has a deeper meaning than it really does,” he said before his transformation. “At the end of the day, I do all this to my body because I think it looks cool, and that’s pretty much the bottom line.”
