Taylor Swift is less than thrilled with a college student who’s devoted a fair amount of time and energy to tracking the movements of her private jet, but it doesn’t sound like he has any plans to stop after getting threatened with legal action.

At this point, it’s pretty hard to argue there’s a single musician on the planet who boasts more star power than Taylor Swift, who has spent close to a year touring the globe on the Eras Tour that led to her striking up a relationship with Travis Kelce.

Her busy travel schedule is made slightly more tolerable with the help of the private jet she relies on to get from place to place—an aircraft that’s caught the attention of Jack Sweeney, a student at the University of Central Florida who’s opted to use publically available information to track its whereabouts.

Earlier this month, we learned Sweeney received a stern letter from Swift’s legal team that promised they would “pursue any and all legal remedies” if he didn’t promptly discontinue that practice while alleging his so-called “stalking and harassing behavior” has led to the artist grappling with a “constant state of fear for her personal safety.”

However, it doesn’t appear he has any plans to comply.

According to TMZ, Sweeney hired his own lawyers to fire back at her attorneys in a letter that asserts his project falls under “protected speech.” It also argues the initial cease and desist request was defined by the “absence of any credible legal claim,” noting the stalking accusations levied against the college student require the existence of a “credible threat.”

The response makes it very clear Sweeney has no plans to stop tracking the jet, so while Swift’s team could escalate the matter if they so choose, it doesn’t seem like they have much of a legal leg to stand on.
