Grand Theft Auto VI is arguably the most anticipated release in video game history, and fans of the franchise have spent years clamoring for details concerning what to expect. Thankfully, that long wait is finally coming to an end now that Rockstar has announced when it will be dropping the first trailer.

It’s been more than a decade since the fifth installment in the Grand Theft Auto franchise came out, and the folks at Rockstar Games have certainly milked it for all it’s worth thanks to the billions of dollars they’ve generated thanks in no small part to the cash cow that is GTA Online.

In 2022, the company officially announced GTA VI was in development, and while a massive leak that surfaced in September of that year seemed to confirm it will be taking fans of the video games back to Vice City, we still don’t have any official confirmation that’s the case.

With that said, it’s safe to assume it will be set in a tropical locale based on the palm trees in the graphic that was used to confirm the release date for the first trailer, which will finally be coming out at 9 A.M. on December 5th.

As things currently stand, it’s unclear when the game itself will be dropping, although it’s very likely the trailer will feature a release window (if not a specific date).

When you consider Rockstar has released financial reports that predict 2024 will be a very lucrative year for the company, it seems like a foregone conclusion that’s when GTA VI is coming out (it will almost certainly be slotted on the latter half of the calendar).

At this point, you can only hope it will be worth the wait, but if Rockstar’s track record is any indication, it’s hard to imagine that’s not going to end up being the case.
