It’s Fishing SZN up in Alaska right now. The daily highs are in the low to mid 70s and the daily lows are in the mid-50s right now throughout a lot of Alaska and that kicks off some of the best fishing in North America.

You can tell things are starting to pick up in Alaska because the Bear Cam is back and the brown bears are already showing up at Brooks Falls in Katmai National Park to score an easy salmon meal. It’s been documented here on BroBible in my “Best Tasting Fish in the World” roundup that Salmon isn’t at the top of my list but fresh fish is generally good no matter what the fish is.

Here we see lifelong fishermen Jeremy Woodrow of the Alaskan Seafood Marketing Institute. He’s gone to the munchies test kitchen to demonstrate how to properly fillet a fresh salmon, and this is definitely a skill every guy should know. Every fish is filleted a little bit different from the next but this is an excellent demonstration on how to properly fillet a salmon.

Commit this knowledge to memory and/or bookmark this article and this way you can carve up your fresh fish after your next outing and not look silly when you have to ask someone to fillet it for you:

I’ve repeatedly thought about rolling out a ‘Skills Every Guy Should Know’ feature here at BroBible with survival, handyman, DIY, and tutorials of general life skills like this one, or how to change a tire, make a pipe out of an apple, turn your jeans into a floatation device, and shit like that. I can’t tell if that’s something you guys would be into.

Is it? There are plenty of people out there who make content like this on the Internet but I think I could add my own accent to it.

If it is, you could suggest some topics for what you’d like to see by hitting me up on Twitter at @casspa or you can drop me an email at cass@brobible.com.
