While tons of TV series and movies have been delayed due to our current global situation, the highly-anticipated second season of The Mandalorian was not one of them, as production — which began in the Fall — wrapped in early March, thus keeping the series on course for its October release date.

In a recent interview with Star Wars Holocron, The Clone Wars voice actor Sam Witwer discussed what writer and director Dave Filoni has planned for the upcoming second season, saying that it’s going to “blow people’s minds”.

“There are things that [Dave Filoni] has coming in The Mandalorian Season 2 that are going to blow people’s minds. Because the thing is that Dave and George always had the same instinct when it came to this. And what this is is that they would ask them, ‘Okay we need to tell a story about witches.’ And then they’d sit there and say, ‘Well do we have something like that in Star Wars? What about the Nighsisters of Dathomir. They’re witches.’ Yeah, okay, wait a second now, [George and Dave] go in and look at the designs and look at how it looks and go ‘yeah that fits.’ And sometimes [George and Dave] would be like ‘Oh that doesn’t fit, we actually have to do this instead, right?’” [via Heroic Hollywood]

The second season of The Mandalorian, which was already filming while season two was airing and sees Rosario Dawson join the cast as Ahsoka Tano, reportedly finished production back in March. In addition to Dawson joining the cast, season two is also set to further explore Giancarlo Esposito’s villainous Dark Saber-possessing Moff Gideon.

At this time, season two of The Mandalorian is set to hit Disney+ in October. All eight episodes of the first season are currently streaming. Additionally, all of The Clone Wars can also be found on Disney+.
