There are Cactus Club Cafes all over the U.S., but the Miami branch is in a different league. So much so that TikToker Trevor Blair (@trevor.blairrr) and his friends flew to Miami specifically to try the eatery. However, he didn’t expect his friend to get dress-coded.
Whether it’s various airlines or even Sin City itself, pedantic dress code policies are, arguably, a cornerstone of American culture. While one can usually get around this by researching, Blair and his friends drew the short straw after they were turned away from Miami’s Cactus Club Cafe because of his friend’s outfit.
What Happened?
Blair managed to capture the moment in a clip that garnered 330,600 views. The video was accompanied by on-screen text that read: “POV: You flew out of town to try Cactus Club but they dress code your whole outfit.”
The clip showed the friend, who was wearing a plunging V-neck white t-shirt and denim three-quarter-length shorts. In it, he asks the doorman what he was wearing that violates the dress code. He questions whether it’s the shirt, only to be told that it is both his shirt and his pants. Digesting this, the man looks confused.
The awkward scene led to Blair and a female friend walking away, unable to contain their laughter. As the rest of the group remains by the Cactus Club Cafe looking puzzled, the pair just can’t stop laughing.
Between laughing fits, Blair repeats “I just spent $30,” before reconvening with the group and explaining, “I’m laughing because we still gotta pay the $30.”
The video ends with Blair trying to raise his friends’ spirits by trying to “pop it” with them. He isn’t successful. BroBible reached out to Blair via email.
What Is The Cactus Club Cafe Miami Dress Code?
On the Cactus Club Cafe website for the Miami branch, the dress code is as follows:
“To complement the tone of our space, we kindly ask guests to dress in stylish, smart casual attire. We celebrate personal style that aligns with a refined atmosphere; however, athletic wear, gym attire or sportswear, hoodies, sweatpants or loungewear, oversized clothing, beanies, slides or flip flops, swimwear or beachwear, excessively bold or disruptive accessories or jewelry, and overly revealing clothing are not permitted at any time.”
It continues that it asks “gentlemen [to] refrain from wearing shorts, sleeveless shirts, and baseball or casual hats. Admission is at the discretion of our management, with the goal of ensuring an exceptional experience for all guests.”
As the doorman mentioned, it was one of the male group members’ shirts and pants that were the problem. Per these guidelines, the shorts directly violate Cactus Club’s evening service dress code. The issue with the shirt is less clear, but it could be classified as “overly revealing.”

“Lmaooo in Vancouver we go in literal pyjamas,” a second shared. And a third wrote, “I could wear just underwear at Cactus in Calgary and they would still seat me.” Similarly, a fourth chimed in saying, “As a Canadian this is hilarious, I showed up to Cactus in a durag last month.”
