Olivia Wilde’s recent red carpet appearance has sparked widespread concern online, with speculation about Ozempic use growing after photos showed the actress looking noticeably thin.

During a recent appearance on a red carpet to promote her new film The Invite — which also stars Seth Rogen, Edward Norton and Penelope Cruz — actresses and director Olivia Wilde looked noticeably thinner than in the past, leading to speculation that she took a weight loss drug such as Ozempic.

The images have prompted speculation not just from random social media users, but even from medical professionals, including Dr. Jesse Morse, who used the photos to warn about what’s become known as “Ozempic face” — the gaunt appearance that can result from rapid weight loss.

According to Morse, the facial volume loss associated with the phenomenon is “nearly impossible to reverse” and his advice is to avoid semaglutide — the drug that forms the foundation of weight loss products — entirely.

The Invite — hitting movie theaters in the United States on Friday, June 26 — is Wilde’s latest feature film as a director and her first since her much-maligned 2022 film Don’t Worry Darling. The Invite is faring much better with critics, however, and seems to be a return to form for wild as the film currently has a 91% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes.
