After spending much of the 1990s being pop culture’s “it girl,” Pamela Anderson is once again at the forefront of the pop cultural consciousness thanks to the Hulu miniseries Pam & Tommy.

Released early last year, the series features Lily James as Pamela Anderson and Sebastian Stan as her lover Tommy Lee Jones in a dramatized retelling of the events that led up to and followed the illegal theft and subsequent sale of the couple’s adult home video.

Now, in an apparent response to the series and in an effort to control the narrative herself, Anderson is starring in an intimate Netflix documentary titled Pamela, a love story, which will hit the streaming service on January 31.

“I blocked that stolen tape out of my life in order to survive,” the 55-year-old Anderson says in the trailer. “And now that it’s all coming up again, I feel sick. I want to take control of the narrative for the first time.”

Here’s the official synopsis for Pamela, a love story:

An intimate and humanizing portrait of one of the world’s most famous blonde bombshells, Pamela, a love story follows the trajectory of Pamela Anderson’s life and career from small town girl to international sex symbol, actress, activist and doting mother. [via Netflix]

As for Pam & Tommy, that’s currently streaming over on Hulu. In addition to James and Stan in the lead roles, the series also starred Seth Rogen, Nick Offerman, Fred Hechinger, Taylor Schilling, Andrew Dice Clay, Pepi Sonuga, and more.

The eight-episode mini-series was largely well received as it was nominated for Outstanding Limited Or Anthology Series at the Emmy Awards and currently maintains a 79% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes.
