Here’s a wacky #WaybackWednesday revelation. You may have missed this message that was secretly hidden in the PlayStation 2’s load screen. Eagle-eyed gamers noticed that Sony hid a secret meaning of the towers of the PS2’s load screen. If you recall, there are tower blocks on the load screen of the PlayStation 2 that seem to always change. There is actually a good reason for that. Haider Ali spotted the odd towers on the load screen and posted on his Facebook the true meaning of the seemingly innocuous graphics from the video game console that debuted in 2000.

Ali posted: “Fun fact; The start up screen on PS2 showed different amount of towers based on how many games you played, and the height showing how long you played said game. Basically, the little tower blocks change on the screen – and if you look closely, or pay attention to them, you’ll see they correspond to the games you have played.” The towers take the information from your memory card. What a fun fact you could tell your cousin at Thanksgiving and blow his mind with quirky needless information from nearly two decades ago when you both were kids and spent the holidays playing hours upon hours of Metal Gear Solid.
