A man got tanked at a Texas Roadhouse after trying all the cocktails on the menu. How many drinks did he get before getting cut off?

One man decided to exercise his use of free will. He aimed to get blackout drunk at Texas Roadhouse by trying every cocktail on the menu.

In a TikTok with over 6.1 million views, Jay (@realhybridjay) reveals how many cocktails he was able to order before getting cut off.

Can You Get Cut Off At Texas Roadhouse?

“I’m at Texas Roadhouse, and we’re ordering every cocktail on the menu until they cut me off,” Jay begins.

The first drink that he orders is a Long Island Iced Tea.

“Oh boy, I’m gonna be getting drunk bad,” he realizes.

He gulps down the first drink and moves onto a strawberry margarita, which he discovers is even stronger.

“That’s literally stronger than the first one. It’s not gonna take long for me to black out in this Texas Roadhouse,” he shares.

Next up is the Jamaican Cowboy, which is straight down the hatch. Jay believes it tastes like a peach vape. Three drinks down, and Jay is feeling the buzz. The fourth drink is the Hurricane margarita.

“Guess what? I’m drunk,” he reveals.

The Porch Rocker is Jay’s fifth cocktail, and he downs it effortlessly.

“If they want to cut me off, I might just make them sing me, ‘Happy Birthday’ first,” he quips.

Still going strong, the sixth drink is the original margarita. Starting to feel the drunkenness, Jay makes a mistake by making eye contact with the server.

“I didn’t have my sober face on. She might know I’m drunk,” he shares.

8 Drinks Is This Limit For This Customer

However, he is able to get the seventh drink, which is some unnamed bluish cocktail.

“I’m afraid for the bill, and I’m afraid for my liver,” Jay admits.

Jay believes he’s on the verge of a blackout but is able to order one more.

“She brought the eighth one out and told me I couldn’t order anymore. This cowboy has been cut off,” Jay reveals.

The final cocktail is a Midnight Sour.

“Eighth drink down. We just broke the seven-drink record. I’m cut off, and I’m going home,” he concludes.

“I Would Be Projectile Vomiting Like The Exorcist”

Viewers in the comment section couldn’t believe how Jay was able to house all of these drinks.

“‘We’re getting blackout drunk in this Texas Roadhouse’ is the most American thing I’ve ever heard,” one TikTok commenter wrote.

“The sugar would’ve made me nauseous af,” another added.

“I would be projectile vomiting like the exorcist,” a third chimed in.

Other viewers zeroed in on his first drink of choice, the Long Island Iced Tea.

“I woke up in jail after 3 Texas Roadhouse long islands,” one shared.

“Starting with a Long Island is diabolical,” another commented.

“After being a server at Texas Roadhouse, I can’t believe they served you this many lol,” a third wrote.

A spokesperson for Texas Roadhouse told BroBible, “We have strict responsible alcohol service procedures. As a result of the video, we are investigating the service provided to this guest.”

How Does A Restaurant Decide When To Cut A Customer Off?

Over-serving customers runs the risk of litigation, legal, and civil charges for the bar or restaurant, FSR Magazine reports. Most states allow for prosecutions against commercial establishments that over-serve customers who are visibly intoxicated.

Some customers may be able to hide their drunkenness. But it’s important for the bar to notice how many drinks they have had and how they are acting.

The three main reasons a bar or restaurant will cut a person off from drinking is when the person has issues with memory, slurred speech, and motor function deficits. When a person gets wobbly, rowdy, or incoherent, it’s highly likely they will get cut off. Additional intoxication signs workers are trained to spot can include spilling drinks, blood-shot eyes, drowsiness, stumbling, loud speech, and aggressive behavior.

When a person gets cut off, it’s simply to protect the intoxicated person and others around them.
