Leaked Set Photo From ‘The Batman’ Reveals Just How Gruesome The Villains Will Be

Warner Bros.

With production on The Batman beginning this year, the picture of what the highly-anticipated film will ultimately look like has begun to become clearer and clearer.

Whether it be director Matt Reeves sharing the first look at the new Batsuit or leaked set photos showing clearer glimpses of Colin Farrell’s Penguin and Pattinson’s Dark Knight or the comic book influences that the film is incorporating, the vision that Reeves has for the film is becoming increasingly crystallized.

That trend has continued this week, as what recent leaked set photos show what appears to be a murder victim of Paul Dano’s Riddler.

Considering the announced villains in the film — Penguin, Catwoman, Riddler, and mob boss Carmine Falcone — a seemingly mummified-looking man with “no more lies” written on his face certainly fits the profile of Riddler. If that turns out being the case, it would certainly represent a massive departure from the last time we saw the character on the big screen — Jim Carrey’s infamously manic performance back in 1995’s Batman Forever.

Plus, given the sensibilities of Matt Reeves and the casting of Dano, it seems more likely that this version of Riddler will be more of a serial killer than a puzzle master.
