It’s been a big week for the Star Wars galaxy, as there have been new developments on multiple fronts, particularly in regard to Disney+.
First, on Tuesday, it was announced that season three of the hit series The Mandalorian is already in the works. Then, just yesterday, word broke that Russian Doll co-creator Leslye Headland had been tasked by the Mouse House to develop a “female-centric” series for Disney+. Finally, Disney dropped the trailer for Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian, which is a docuseries about the making of the first-ever live-action Star Wars series:
Each episode of the docuseries will “explore a different facet of The Mandalorian through interviews, never-before-seen footage, and roundtable conversations hosted by showrunner Jon Favreau,” according to Disney.
Here’s the official synopsis for Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian:
In “Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian,” Executive Producer Jon Favreau invites the cast and crew to share an unprecedented look at the making of the series which quickly became a pop culture phenomenon after premiering in November. Debuting on the day that a worldwide community of fans celebrate all-things-Star Wars — Monday, May 4 — “Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian” is an eight-episode documentary series that pulls back the curtain on the first season of “The Mandalorian.”
Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian will first premiere on Monday, May 4, with new episodes then airing on Fridays thereafter.
